1.INSIDE/OUTSIDE TRIM:
At Zavala Iron Doors, we are proud to inform you that we were pioneers in including the inside and outside trim in all our doors. Out of the hundreds of companies on the web, we only know of one that builds outside trim. All doors to be mounted in the U.S. require inside trim, and at least 50% of them require outside trim.
The outside trim is what makes the difference on your impression when you first see our doors; you can’t tell what it is, but you can feel it, and that is because our 12-piece jamb is available in different square tube and flat bar materials, while the competition only offers 1 ½” x 4” square tube for the frames.

2.THRESHOLD:
Zavala Iron Doors was the first company to manufacture Iron Doors with a 1 ¾” x 7” installed threshold. Currently, as of October 4th, 2007, we are still the only ones to provide an iron door with an installed threshold; this gives the contractor, installer, and customer a great advantage, because it guarantees that the door has been checked thoroughly, and cannot become misaligned. One of the shortcomings of the competition is that by not sending the door with the threshold already installed, it can easily get bent out of shape, and you will forever have problems closing it properly. You will never know whether the problem was caused by the installer, the contractor, or the manufacturer; they will all blame each other, and in the end, you’ll realize that the problem is that the door became misaligned because it was not delivered with the threshold pre-installed by the manufacturer.

3. STEP:
In Zavala Iron Doors we are also the pioneers – and the only company – that installs a step in front of the door; we offer it because there is a height difference (normally 3”) between the floor in front of your home and your entryway. At Zavala Iron Doors, we currently cover it with a soleplate attached to the outside trim and threshold. For this same purpose, we also extend the outside trim approximately 3” downward. These are the small, but significant details that guarantee that you are buying the best iron doors in all of the U.S.

4.POWDER COATING:
In Zavala Iron Doors we use powder coating as a base or primer, exclusively to protect the iron, and on top of this paint, detailing with Bond-o. Once this is done, we coat it with primer, then dark brow acrylic, then the finish, and the satin clear coat, which accentuates the iron door and turns it into a majestic piece. This attention to detail is the reason Zavala Iron Doors can guarantee iron doors against rust and corrosion for 3 years.

5.WEATHER-CERTIFIED PRODUCTS:
We work with Combo Aluminum Products Company, who supplies us with the best weather stripping materials in the Wrought Iron Door industry.

  • Jamb Weather Stripping, Fire-rated by Underwriters Laboratory for 20 minutes in accordance with UL QVWZ file #R14384. Cellular modified foam core, cladding is an embossed, non-vinyl, U.V. Stabilized, paint-resistant liner. Has 5/8” reach. Will allow for as much as 3/16” movement with no loss of sealing performance. Air infiltration tested within ASTM, NWWDA, ANSI, and ISDSI standards.
  • Weather Seal: The manufacturer offers a 10 year guarantee on the damage of this product. Our long-lasting, top-quality weather stripping will not harden, crack, or freeze. It retains shape even under freezing temperatures.
  • Door bottoms & seals are extruded aluminum with either double vinyl seal or wide finger vinyl seal.

6.GAUGE & DENSITY:
All our Iron Doors, Gates, Railings, Balconies, Fences and accessories, are manufactured with top-quality iron materials. This might seem obvious, but if you ask some manufacturers if there are inferior quality iron materials, they might be left looking for an answer. The only way they differentiate between the two is by considering rusty pieces poor material. Top-quality material is not only corrosion and rust-free, but also absolutely straight and, in the case of square tubing, with a perfect close. The materials we work with the most are 14-gauge square tubes, 3/8” x 1”-1½” flat-bar design, and 5/8” x 5/8”square or round-bar design.

7.HARDWARE:
We work with best-selling Emtek Tuscany hardware. You can find the different models we carry at http://www.ccbrass.com. For your ease and convenience, Zavala Iron Doors will take care of purchasing the lock for you. All you need to do is find the model you like best out of those that fit your door. Please note that Iron Double Doors only come with one entry lock. If you would like a dummy knob, please request it as an additional accessory.

8.GLASS PANES:
All our window glass products are tempered and insulated, as required by US Code. We carry the following options:
  • Clear
  • Solar Cool
  • Rain
  • Frosted
  • Glue Chip
  • Water

9.Working Windows:
Our versatile Iron Door windows provide a safe way to greet an unexpected visitor, as well as easy access for a quick clean-up before welcoming guests to that special occasion at your home.

10.COLORS:
We are pioneers in the making of new colors. More than 10 years ago, we realized that the combination of a black base combined with other colors was too boring, unsightly and cold. We came up with something very simple, elegant, and warm, which can be felt as soon as you see our Iron Doors. We changed the base color from black to very dark brown, and that has made the difference, so much so that some of our competitors caught on and have since started using different shades of brown as their base color. Today, we offer different colors so that your doors will be different and unique, and will catch the eye of anyone who visits your home.

11.HINGE REINFORCEMENT:
The hinge itself does not require any reinforcement. In over 10 years of manufacturing Iron Doors, neither the male nor the female components of our hinges have ever suffered any damage. Zavala Iron Doors installs reinforcement to the frame square tube; this helps separate tubular to our ball baring hinges from the door and frame. It is important to remember that, unlike wooden doors, our iron-door hinges are factory-welded and cannot be moved, or adjusted. Unlike our competitors, our proven track record gives you the certainty that you will never have any problems with our ball baring hinges.

12.MATERIALS:
All our Iron Doors, Gates, Railings, Balconies, Fences and accessories, are manufactured with top-quality iron materials.
